Born in Buenos Aires on February 20th 1987, Corina Herrera has been dancing tango for 24 years and teaching for the last 19.

Being 9 years old she fell in love with this dance with “firuletes“ and lush clothes.

At the beginning it was a kind of game: she loved to dance and feel special among the adults.

Since her first lesson at Talcahuano St, she never stopped dancing and she dedicated her entire life to it.

After many years being part of the Children Ballet “Proyecto Tango”, together with the prominent Roxana Suarez, she went to a “milonga” for the first time at the age of 13.

Since then, her conviction to be a tango dancer became stronger.

She felt totally amazed by the fact of connecting body movements with music and the challenge of an improvised dance between two people.

She studied with the most renowned maestros of that moment, such as Julio Balmaceda, Corina De La Rosa, Fernando Galera, Vilma Vega, Omar Vega, Pupi Castillo, Milena Plebs, Chicho Frúmboli, Dana Frigoli, Pablo Villarraza, among many others.

At the age of 14 she was already assistant of many of those teachers and she gave her first private lessons.

At that time she knew she would dedicate her soul to dance and teach Tango.

When she was 16, she started a partnership with Rodrigo Palacios and 1 year later they were invited to work in China for 6 months, but she also got pregnant and they couldn’t accept.

Becoming a young mother did not make her stop dancing. Thanks to her parents’ help, she could perform at several events in Buenos Aires.

One of the most important ones was at “La Viruta” in 2003, in the “Night of the Youngsters” of the “CITA” (Argentine Tango International Congress), sharing stage with the famous siblings Federico and Ariadna Naveira.

Another important event took place at Salon Canning, where she and Rodrigo were invited to perform as an ”Outstanding young couple”.

For a short period she also paired up with Federico Naveira and they performed at “La Viruta” and “Practica X”.

In 2009 she started working with Octavio Fernandez and they became a very successful couple at that time. She made her first tango tour to Europe and since then, every year she has worked in many cities around the world.
